Daytrip to the Spring Valley Beach Park
Spring Valley Beach Park features one of the
largest swimming pools in the Southeast. The park is family owned and
oriented, and offers a family-oriented atmosphere to provide ultimate
fun and enjoyment for you and your family. Just bring your picnic
basket; the family of Spring Valley Beach is always there to host your
family throughout the day.
Swimming pool – the main attraction
The swimming pool is the main attraction of Spring
Valley Beach Park. The main pool is one of the largest you will find
anywhere. The depth does not exceed 5 feet. And there is a special pool
called kiddie pool where kids of all ages enjoy the fun with water.
The water slides have something for everyone.
While the Sidewinder is for daredevils, the Chiller is for speed
lovers. To ride the Sidewinder, you have to climb a four-storey tower.
The ride is thrilling, zigzagging and make sure you scream while
riding. The Chiller is actually two water slides built into the side of
a hill. It is always advisable that you wear helmets for your safety
while taking Chiller water slides. There is also an aboveground slide
called the Circle-S, which is undoubtedly a fun-ride.
You may ride the water slides as many times as you
wish since the price of riding is included in the cost of admission. An
air pump is also available to inflate your rafts and floats. Lifeguards
are also there on duty and they always watch you and your children for
your safety.
Price of admission
The price of admission in Spring Valley Beach is
quite affordable. Children ages 2 and under can enter without any
charge, along with the adults. However, there is a rule that small
children should wear swim diapers. The charge for admission of 3 years
up to 54 inches tall is $13.00 (including tax), while over 54 inches
tall children will be charged $16.00 (including tax). The group rate is
quite attractive. If you enter Spring Valley Beach with a group of 30
people or more, you get a $2.00 off on Admission Price. Season Passes
are also available for family as well as for individual. Family pass
costs $49.95+tax per person, while individual pass costs $65 + tax.
The park is available for family reunions,
birthday parties and other special events. Usually the park remains
open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday are the most
crowded day in Spring Valley. So if you want to visit less crowded park
come during the week.
Enjoy picnic
Spring Valley Park lets you picnic in the park.
You can bring your homemade fpicnic or you can purchase food from the
park’s concession stand where you will find soft drinks, snacks, ice
cream and other food items.
There are many picnic tables available on a first
come first served basis. However, you can also book your picnic table
earlier. Gazebo rentals are available for $20 a day and each of them
offers covered picnic table. Though you can book your table, you have
to arrive at the time of opening i.e. 10 a.m. to claim your
gazebo.
Getting there
Spring Valley Beach is located 2 miles north of
Blountsville off of Hwy 231 on County Road 55. It takes around 1 hour
to reach Spring Valley Beach from Huntsville. If you are coming from
Birmingham keep travelling on Hwy 79, it will turn into Hwy 231 North.
At mile marker 270, turn left; you will get the Spring Valley Beach
Road. It takes approximately 1 hour from Birmingham to reach Spring
Valley by car.
